Jason Day revealed on Wednesday that his mother was battling lung cancer, and that he was withdrawing from the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play to be by her side for surgery on Friday.Following an outpouring of support, Day's wife, Ellie, sent out this emotional Instagram note:
My family. Thankful for all the prayers and support, guys. I knew it would come out when the time was right and although it sucks to WD, this is the right thing to do.
