KAPALUA, Hawaii The new rule that begins this week that will allow players to play shots from the putting surface with the flagstick in the hole has created plenty of opinions among PGA Tour players.On one extreme is Dustin Johnson who said on Wednesday at the Sentry Tournament of Champions that he cant imagine many instances when he would keep the flagstick in the hole while hes putting. Bryson DeChambeau, however, said he plans to keep the flagstick in early and often.This could create some interesting scenarios on Thursday when Johnson and DeChambeau will be paired together in the days last group at Kapalua.

I guess this rule just gave me flashbacks to playing the pin in/out game for people chipping/putting from off the green. Realistically, I think most people prefer putting with the pin out anyway, and not worrying about taking the pin out would be nice for semi-serious early-morning speed rounds!
